B-day Interview

It's never too late to start a new tradition. Recently, I came across an idea on the interwebs about giving your kids interviews every year on their birthday. Genius! It is an amazing way to chronicle the changes your kids go through year after year. They grow up so fast that it is easy to forget some of the little things that make them unique.

I wish I would have found this sooner, but like I said before, it's never too late to start. So, my oldest two kids will have interviews from the time they are 6 and 7 (presently) to... well, however long I decide to do this project, which I would like to keep up on until they are in their 20's at least. How awesome will it be to look back on a book filled with interviews of them 10 or 20 years down the road? Very awesome, I think.

I decided to not only type out the interviews, but I backed it up with a video of them taking the interviews. I think this will be particularly interesting when my son's voice changes! haha.

Sydney’s Birthday Interview- Age 7

What is your name?  Sydney Stewart

How old are you?   7

When is your birthday?   July 2^nd , 2004

What is your favorite color?  Black and white

What is your favorite animal?  Zebra

If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be? Would you be a zebra? Or would you be something different?   … a gecko lizard

What is your favorite movie? School of Rock and Ariel

What is your favorite tv show?  Fetch with Ruff Ruffman, icarly, wildkrats and electric company

What is your favorite food? Tacos

Favorite book? 500 insects. That’s a real book.  About real insects, huh?

What do you like to do for fun? Umm.. I don’t really know. Drawing.

Favorite toy to play with? Ummm.. a Barbie

Favorite restaurant? I have 2 favorite restaurants: Famous Dave’s and the chinese buffet. Those are good places.

What do you want to be when you grow up? Someone  who studies insects. Do you remember what that is called? An entomologist.

How do you think you have changed since your last birthday? I don’t know

What’s the most important thing you have learned since your last birthday? All of my closest families phone numbers.

Favorite thing about yourself? I don’t really know

Can you describe yourself in one word? Ummm… no. I can’t. I can. I would say “creative”

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be? I would live… probably in California. Or Texas.

If you could take a vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go? California

Favorite ice cream?  Mint oreo. That’s my favorite too

If you had a whole day to do whatever you wanted, what would you do? I don’t really know

What is something you like about your brother? He’s a goofball

What is something you like about your dad? He’s a goofball too

What is something you like about your sister? She’s so sweet and tiny.

What is your favorite thing aobut me, your mom? That you’re so nice and so warm and I love to snuggle with you. I love to snuggle with you too

Simeon’s Birthday Interview- Age 6

What is your name? Simeon. Simeon what? Simeon Stewart

When is your birthday? I forgot. What? You know when your birthday is. July 2^nd. That’s your sister’s birthday. October 8th. Right.

What is your favorite color? Yellow. Yellow? I thought it was red. I changed it. Ok.

What is your favorite movie? I’d say that one Mario movie with the dinosaurs.

Favorite tv show? Icarly

Favorite book? The dinosaur book that has the googly eyeballs

Favorite food?  Corn dogs. And I want a corn dog. You want one right now? Yes. I don’t have any, but maybe we’ll get some later.

If you could go on vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go? Somewhere where it snows.

If you could have one super power, what would it be? Bubble power. So you could just make bubbles? Yea, and I could have bubble force fields and bubble things like a bubble ship.

What is the happiest thing to happen to you so far? The best thing that happened to me, is the first time I got class bear at school.

The interviews went well. As you can see, I have a few little kinks to work out as far as my questions go. I'm sure I'll think of new ones each year.I am looking forward to seeing how their answers may change from year to year.
