July in Photos

We started the month off with a little weekend trip up north. It was our first vacation with the five of us.

Eric's face. haha.

The "cabin" we rented was nice...
except i was convinced it was haunted... especially in this room.
and this painting creeped me out
the cowboy's eyes followed you

The coolest thing about this house was that it was on a farm and we got to feed the horses and llamas.

Unfortunately, this was the only cool thing about where we were. I had planned out things to do and what restaurants we were going to visit and nothing was working out. One of the restaurants we planned on eating at was shut down and when we went to the next restaurant, they didn't have any high chairs for the baby. What kind of a restaurant doesn't have high chairs? The place we finally did find to eat at was less than mediocre. Everything seemed to be going wrong.

After a good nights sleep, we decided to change our plans. We checked out of the cabin early and headed out on the road with no particular destination in mind. We just picked a direction and went.
It turned out to be the best decision we could have made. It went from being a National Lampoons Vacation disaster to being a full fledged adventure. It was the best weekend vacation ever.
We basically traveled all around the Mogollon Rim and back down to the valley. We found some great thrift stores along the way. We visited the Tonto Natural Bridge and we even happened upon a charming little festival in Strawberry, AZ.

Eric. always funny.

and then back to normal life...

here we come, august
